Sears. It's hard to get excited.
Having just moved to Canadia, we needed something to sit on and pronto. Where else would we eat, sleep and use our various iSlacker devices?
I assumed that we'd be able to find a decent quality leather sectional, either at a furniture store or possibly Craigslist. We hit quite a few stores and just couldn't seem to find anything we liked.
During pride we headed into the Eaton Centre Sears to look for a toaster. To our surprise they had quite a selection of furniture and we figured 'why not?'.
We found a couch we liked and were told it would take slightly longer than a week for delivery. Most stores were 3-4 weeks for an in stock item, and 4-6 months for something custom made. Yeowza!
In addition they were having a 30% off sale, which really sweetened the deal.
I'd take a few points off for delivering it two days after the said date, as well as giving us a window of 7am-5pm. "Hope you have a good book" was the comment from our salesperson. Still, she called me on the morning of the delivery to tell me the couch would be delayed so no sweat.
The other thing that bugged me was that they didn't unpack it and install the feet. This might seem trivial, however this is really a HUGE couch and it was a gigantic pain in the ass. One of the legs/feet didn't fit correctly and another had no fitting at all. Between drilling my own leg fitting, finding the right parts and removing all the packaging I wasted nearly 2 hours.
