  • The burger brigade conquers yet another burger baron foe (that soon after became a friend), that of new-ish Fatburger in Thornhill. The location is in off of the Disera Drive faux neighbourhood complex they've built just across Centre Street from Promenade Mall (seriously, it looks like a tiny historic neighbourhood with lots of walking paths, street parking, street level shops - ingenious really for the burbs). Now the menu is MASSIVE, every kind of burger (beef, double beef, double double beef, chicken, fish, turkey, etc, etc), chicken tenders, onion rings, soft drinks, lemonades, chilli, fresh made chips, every kind of french fries.... it goes on and on, something for everyone. I went with the Fat Cheeseburger, which was 2 6oz patties on a bun with every topping standard (the standard for any of their burgers with the Fat-prefix), I added some double thick cut bacon and some special sauce. Our group split a lumber jack poutine, regular fries and their house made chips. Now the burger itself I would give maybe a 2.5 or a 3 star MAX. It was (in my opinion) overly seasoned with black pepper, and overly cooked. I like a little pink or a little juice. I found it a tad try and it needed the toppings to be complete. The sides and service were top notch however, and staff were clearing our garbage away within seconds of being finished, I thought this was a nice touch for a fastfood joint. Big points for this guys well done. They have Amsterdam 416 coming in on draught soon, so make sure you check them out. This was an OK spot that if you're nearby I'd suggest checking out, but not something really worth trekking across the burbs for. Eatcrest Out!
