| - I invited friends to meet me here for dinner for happy hour as a going-away dinner, but we realized the happy hour menu was pretty limited so we went for the AYCE instead. The sushi was decent. Not bad, but nothing that made me go "Wow!" either.
Part of the reason we all had to do AYCE was because the waitress informed us that you could not do happy hour and AYCE at the same table. In other words, if someone did not wish to do AYCE, they were not allowed to have happy hour prices--they would have to pay full price for whatever they ordered. Well, okay. The food came relatively fast, but the orders seemed to be messed up a few times. Hard to argue about what you ordered though with so many people and so many different plates of food coming to the table.
Our actual waitress made few appearances throughout dinner--drinks were refilled and sushi was brought out by others. When I requested for the check to be split, she told us she couldn't split the check more than 4 ways (there were 10 of us). Well, what? So we were forced to dig out the calculators since some people ordered alcohol, extras, etc. Most of us were paying with cards, and it was a big fat mess that unnecessarily forced US to be sitting doing math instead of enjoying our time there. The really stupid part is that the waitress STILL ended up ringing up x number of tabs and printing x number of receipts anyway, the only difference is that she stressed out the customers in the process.
If this is a company policy, it's a stupid one. If it was just our waitress being lazy, then thank you for being such a jerk about it. The BS with the AYCE vs. happy hour coupled with the BS about the check at the end of the night really turned me off to this place. I will not be back.
However, a shout out to the great bussers we had that attentively refilled drinks all night. Also a shout out to the waitress I had the first time I went here that made me come back, I don't know her name but she has braces and is awesome!
