| - Great boutique hotel in the heart of Old Montreal and perfectly situated among all the hustle and bustle, especially on the weekends. Everything is a stone's throw from this place - Cirque de Soliel, Bixi bikes, bike rental, bike/running paths, good restaurants, metro, the list goes on and on. The décor is very hip and contemporary, located adjacent to art galleries and has an exposed quarried stone wall (as opposed to brick which I think would be more Manhattan style) which is on par with Old Montreal itself - a blend of new and old; antiquated yet contemporary. The rooms are on the small side, but feel more homey; showers are amazing, and the bathrobes and slippers are a nice touch. I liked the feel of a small boutique hotel as opposed to a large corporate one - you feel like you actually live in/are a part of the city as opposed to a visitor. There's no gym there but you can use the one at the hotel Nelligan down the street or run or bike on the many bike paths by the water. The staff is extremely friendly, professional, and informative and will do whatever they can to help you. The breakfast in the morning is amazing - chocolate croissants, muesli, and a darn good latte. I can only think of one place in DC that makes lattes as good as the ones in Montreal. Had a great time at this hotel, would return in a heartbeat.
