| - I broke a bone and didn't know it. I mean, I knew I fell and my arm hurt, but I didn't think broken. So I drove an hour from home and by that time, the arm was useless and there was a lot of pain. So since JCL is close to my house, I went there--make it 2 hours now with a broken elbow.
So it's about 5am when I hit the E.R. 1 person there besides me. I am just "this" close to tears, tell the woman at the counter the problem and start trying to find ins. and ID--not easy with 1 arm. She said "no no, don't worry", got me a cold pack immediately and I was ushered back. My butt never touched a waiting room chair!
In the back I probably was not the best patient because it hurt so bad, but everyone was nice. Since I could not straighten the arm for Xray, they gave me 2 percocets ( I think it was) to relax me, but warned me I would not be permitted to drive after I took them. Sure, I'm thinking, I'm 5 min. away, they won't know.
Confirmation of the break, sling since it was so swollen by then, Rx, quick stop at payment lady (very first mention of ins. and payment-nice-take care of me first, we'll worry about the rest later), then they called the cab and made damn sure I got in it!
Felt well taken care of!
