Dang, why isn't flying out of Pearson this enjoyable? Until recently the only Toronto airport that I had ever experienced was Pearson and let's just say that the experience there leaves much to be desired. Billy Bishop makes the whole airport experience, dare I say it, pleasant.
The airport is accessed easily from downtown Toronto. If you get down to the waterfront you can either take the pedestrian tunnel or the ferry. The walk is not long at all so the tunnel is a good bet. This is a very small airport so check-in lines and security go very quickly. The runway is too short for jets to land at this airport so only turbo props fly into here.
YTZ is one of those rare airports where you actually can't wait to get to the gate because the space there is very comfortable. You can expect lots of seating and complimentary coffee, soft drinks and snacks. It makes the wait for your flight enjoyable. If you are in need of a full meal though the choice will be limited to sandwiches and salads, which must be purchased.
When you fly out of YTZ do what you can to get a window seat on the airplane because as you take off you get to enjoy stunning views of the downtown Toronto skyline. My flight was at night so I was lucky enough to get to see the skyline lit up in all its glory. It was quite a sight to see.
