Beautiful restaurant with great atmosphere. We enjoyed our food on the patio with decent service. Then the check came...I paid cash for our part of the $163 bill and our friends paid with a gift card for their portion. That confused something with the server and the gift card company and we really feel we paid more than what was necessary. Spent the last :20 at our table calculating the bill, which should have been easy but became ridiculous. The server couldn't really explain it either so that was no help.
We then got out to the required valet parking stand ("complimentary" what a racket!) and waited for at least 5 minutes for an attendant to appear. I gave him our ticket along with $5 because that's what you're supposed to do...tip. Mamma raised me right.
The attendant huffed off but since the car was right next to us I said he didn't need to get it. He yelled that it's required and slammed the car out of the space, nearly hitting a car entering in the lot head-on and stopped abruptly. He then got out mumbling that it was ok that nobody else was tipping that night either and he was quitting. Ummm. I just gave you freaking $5, why are you being rude to me? Why are you nearly crashing my car? He continued his rant and said we would never see him again, he's quitting...blah...
Not sure what happened there but the check and the valet fiasco really dampened a pleasant evening.
I thought I would place a quick call to the manager on the way home. I probably shouldn't have. All she could do was blame the gift card co and the 3rd party valet service. Pretty much didn't care. As a business, who you use to provide services to your customers is your responsibility and reflects on you. I would suggest getting rid of the valet parking. It's a rip-off.
I likely will not return. Ugh.
