Located on the outskirts of Marche Jean Talon, it was quick access to pastries and bread. The shop is incredibly small with three windows of display inside - bread, pastries and cakes. There was also a small fridge near the entrance where you can buy frozen croissants or dough to make at home.
On my first visit through, my friend and I were picking up a few things for a wine night. We came through in search of a French baguette and upon arrival, we hit the jackpot. Fresh baked bread was brought out to the display window - hot from the oven. Super rad! It tasted great with a crisp exterior and fluffy interior. Really nice with some cheese and charcuterie.
Second visit through and it was our last day in Montreal. Picked up some breakfast as we did one last run through of Marche Jean Talon. I got the chocolate almond croissant and one mini butter croissant. My friend picked up 5 different pastries - some to enjoy for breakfast and some to take home.
The chocolate overwhelmed the almond flavor, so I would not recommend. The dough is really nice though, which you can really taste and feel in the butter croissant. Super flaky, buttery and crisp, the croissant was perfect. I could eat those everyday cause they were THAT good.
I understand why they have frozen ones. If only I could, I would have shipped a couple bags home. Yummy!
