| - It's not a beautiful, glamorous dog park with unicorns and rainbows, but it hits all the spot that I want a off leash dog area to be. As the name of the place suggests, it is a, Off-Leash Dog AREA, not a trail, not a park, not a field. It's an enclosed, fenced area that allows dogs to play off leash. So don't expect to run down a trail with your dog, or have a picnic nearby.
It has two of the things I love the most about off-leash dog parks, fresh water and benches. As a bonus, there is also a tent for folks to hang out, a separate area with those high and low "hills" for dogs to play on.
Bigger dogs are usually here, usually about 80% are medium-large size dogs. Really love how the owners are all very responsible, check up on their dogs frequently, and the dogs are all very well trained. The parking lot is a generous size too.
The area is decently big for an enclosed dog area in Markham. I drive by this area (not exactly here, but a street down) almost every single week, but never knew there was a park here. Some how Yelp never had this as a top dog area until I sorted by distance.
I love this park, and so does my dog! This is our new favourite place to spend our free time.
