| - I should have read Ruth H's review before making my appointment. My aesthetician has been Janina, from Janina's Aesthetics for seven years, but, for some reason I got lazy and wanted to try Blitz Facial Bar. YUGE MISTAKE. YUGE.
I scheduled "The Works", one of their more complete facials, and added an extra of IPL. Due to a disclosed medical condition, I was informed they wouldn't do my IPL. I was floored - I was being denied a treatment based on a medical problem. I tried to explain to the therapist that their reasoning for denying me the IPL were based on misconceptions and lack of proper education. I was then told only the front desk could allow her to perform my treatment. I then asked the front desk, who proceeded to tell me only the store manager could do that. At this point, I had to disclose a medical condition to three different people, and try to reason with the three of them that they should get educated instead of simply denying people services.
After some deliberation, they proceeded with the facial, but I had to write a note explaining that my medical condition has nothing to do with IPL and that I have had IPL done before. Such level of invasiveness, unfortunately, only applies to your personal issues, as the facial itself barely affected me.
The "microdermabrasion" isn't abrasive at all, and they will steam you for five minutes before extracting. The extraction process was the fastest, most superficial I've ever had - for the first time in my life a professional completely finished extraction without using a needle and in 10 minutes. For comparison, the last time I had a facial at Janina's, she spent over 30 min extracting. My skin can't possibly have changed so suddenly, for no reason. She then applied a mask, did a five minute arm and hand massage and, in about 40 minutes, I was told I was done.
Horrible experience. I'm NEVER coming back!
