I've been eating at Banjara since it was Mr. Maharaja downtown more than 15 years ago. I followed them to the current location at Bloor and Christie and was happy to discover this second location when I moved uptown several years ago.
The food has stayed at the same excellent level throughout. This is our go-to North Indian option and have introduced several out of towners as well. The butter chicken is the best in Toronto. We also usually get Shahi shrimp (the kids love it), beef vindaloo, chili chicken, aloo gobi, palak paneer, and daal. The poori, fried with whole wheat flour, is oily but incredible.
