I visited The Body Lab last Sunday with my sister to try out the free class. I had been doing research online and found The Body Lab and was excited to start! I was even ready to pay the $200+ membership for the monthly unlimited. Upon walking into the studio we were not greeted and stood there awkwardly because it was our first visit and we were not sure what protocol was. Finally I went up to the desk where our instructor Kiki was sitting. I introduced myself and told her that it was our first time in the studio. She barely made eye contact and pointed at a clip board and told me and my sister to fill it out. No warm greeting, no warm welcome whatsoever. After we finished filling out the paperwork, I handed it to Kiki and told her that I had just had a baby and was nervous because I feel I have no muscle strength anymore. She barely looked at me and said "you can do variations". No congratulations, no smile, no reassurance whatsoever. It just so happened that I had signed my sister and I up for the wrong location so we weren't able to stay but after the less than acceptable customer service I was glad we didn't have to. Kiki was less than warm and welcoming and was very rude. She seemed as if she didn't want to be there and was bothered by two new clients showing up to her class. I left very relieved that I didn't go ahead and buy the monthly membership online. After that rude experience, I went ahead and hired a personal trainer instead. It's a shame for body lab that Kiki was so rude and unwelcoming because I was ready to sign up and I have many friends who just had babies who are looking for something fun and new to get them back in shape. I will not be recommending The Body Lab to them.
