| - I can't say I'm a coffee connoisseur, but I certainly do enjoy a good cup of Joe on a chilly weekend morning! I was ecstatic to find that they opened a Not Just Coffee NOT in Uptown so I don't have to deal with parking drama before I'm caffeinated.
So what happens? I go to the South End location and the first thing I deal with is parking drama. Well, ok, not what I expected, but it's a Saturday morning, so whatever. I get it. It's busy.
Once I finally park my car, I head in. To my surprise, each time I've been to this location, there's only a few people in line...things are going my way! I didn't wait very long, which was great. The service every time I've gone hasn't been great. The person working the cash register wasn't the most friendly, and the barista had a bit of any angry look on his face. Just didn't seem like any of the employees wanted to be there.
This was one thing that was weird. One of the times I went, I ordered a coffee and she gave it to me immediately...like it was sitting on the counter ready. I guess I was just expecting it to be freshly made if you're paying almost $3 for a cup. Then when I got to the counter, they were out of milk in the carafe except for the last bit I was able to squeeze out as it dripped in.
Overall, coffee wasn't great, employees weren't very friendly and parking is a mess. I will certainly travel for a good cup of coffee, so I think I may stick with the Uptown location in the 7th Street market. I would recommend the South End going here if you're shopping at the farmers market stands so you can sip and buy at the same time.
