I came based on the reviews since I have yet to find a favorite salon for a gel manicure in Pittsburgh. This isn't it. The service was friendly and the shop is fairly clean (though nothing special) with plenty of nearby parking. But I left with inflamed skin around my nails that quickly started to hurt and stayed that way for about 24 hours. My nails are also filed unevenly, and the paint job is pretty messy - full of bubbles without smooth edges near the cuticle.
I get a gel mani when I'm going out of town, and I got mine on a Thursday for an out of state trip. By Sunday I had to buy acetone and supplies to remove it myself at the hotel because it had chipped and peeled. It actually started chipping on Friday (less than a day later) but I thought I could live with it until all the edges started coming up. The skin around my nails was also peeling and painful... maybe I'm allergic to something they use. Not a fun way to spend my vacation.
Based on the reviews, maybe I got them on a bad day, but it just didn't work out for me. I'm disappointed that I spent almost thirty bucks on a manicure that didn't even look nice from the start.
