While we were walking aimlessly through the Plateau in Montreal during the wintertime, our stomachs grumbling and all, we came across Rapido and stepped in unassumingly for a meal.
We were promptly seated and served coffee as our breakfast was being made. I was stunned at the affordable prices and huge portions. I was stuffed after my breakfast and everyone else was pleased.
We returned the next day for lunch. It was so packed, we couldn't find a seat; so we went for a stroll to Caffe Art Java and returned happily to our same seats by the window. We all ordered lunch and it was brought to us quickly by the same, friendly waitress who was helping us learn French with a pleasant, amused smile on her face.
The lunch was delicious and portions as big as before. Open faced burgers with tantalizing, fresh vegetables and thick meat. The sandwiches were impressive. My salad was tasty. We tipped generously and returned one last time before returning home.
I love this restaurant. If I lived here, it would be my regular haunt.
