  • I wish there were an option for zero stars. I took my truck in for an alignment today. They told me that they had to give it a thorough exam beforehand. I reiterated that all I wanted done was the alignment. They called soon after & told my husband that the truck needed 2 new tie rods because they were very loose, which would cost $500, on top of the $69.95 for the alignment. He told them just do what we asked & said no to the tie rods. Two months ago we had four new tires put on, plus a wellness check by our regular mechanic (who doesn't do alignments). No one said anything about a problem w/ them at either place. When I picked it up, they told me they did the best they could, but there is no warranty on the work because we opted not to have them replace the tie rods. I immediately drove it to our regular guy, just to make sure it wasn't a safety issue. He put it up on the rack & showed me that one tie rod was perfectly tight, but the other one was partially unscrewed. He tightened it back up, & it was fine. On the drive home, I realized that S&S had not realigned it at all... no way they could have w/ the tie rod loosened. What a scam. I am sick of places like this telling me good parts need replacing & trying to rip me off.
