The pastries are great, and the environment is cozy. But I have to say, the service here is terrible. I stopped in today to buy a box of pastries to bring to work. I told the young woman at the counter I wanted a dozen pastries. She asked me how many I wanted. She then chose a box and began filling it with pastries according to my direction. But the box did not hold a dozen pastries and she had to put several additional pastries in a separate paper bag. I asked if it was possible to have a shopping bag that I could carry both the box and bag in. She told me that they had shopping bags, but that the boxes they have would not fit in the bag. While we were having this discussion, another woman came in asking to order a large iced tea. The staffer at the counter chose a cup and began to fill it, at which point the customer said that that was not the size she usually got. The staff person replied that they were out of the larger cups. No apology, no offer to fill two instead of one, nothing. The customer finally said that she would go elsewhere for her tea and left. They seemed unconcerned. Meanwhile, I struggled to my office with a bag of pastries balanced on top of a box. Rarely do I have the experience of dropping $40 and feeling like the business where I'm spending my money is doing me a favor. Come on, guys, get it together.
