After I posted my negative review of Dr. Clark on Yelp (below), he sent me a letter sarcastically "thanking" me for my review (he did not deny any of my criticisms however) and informing me that he would not release my dental records unless I paid him $75. The AZ Dental Board only allows for a "reasonable" charge for dental records, and the ADA says dentists have an "ethical duty" to produce copies gratuitously or at a "nominal cost." I'm not sure whether this excessive $75 fee is what Dr. Clark typically charges for photocopying and postage or whether it was a "special" amount just for me, in retaliation for my Yelp review. Luckily, his front office staff had already emailed me my x-rays, so I decided to forgo the rest of my documentation and save myself $75.
Buyer beware!
