There's not much to be said about this place that's not written already. Walked in to this place in a seemingly nicer part of the neighborhood. The inside was dark and had an old feeling to it. Typical t shirt and jeans kinda place. Ladies, do not get dolled up to come here. You will not be noticed. Not only will the darkness overshadow you, your partners will also be distracted by the amazing food to even care about your existence at that moment.
Fried chicken: outside was crispy and perfect. Just enough grease on it to leave a shimmer on your fingers. Cooked perfectly. A little tug to it. The only way this could have been better was to add some lawry's to it before coating it.
Collard greens: idc what race or ethnicity u are, you will love it. Not too wet. Just enough taste of ham hocks in there. Yea. Good.
Okra tomato think: looked diarrhea in the bowl. Tasted like heaven. I wasn't expecting that flavor to come out of this, but it hits u like heroine. U keep wanting more.
Mac and cheese: fuck yea. 2nd best I've ever had in my life. (Smoque in Chicago has it barely beat)
The cornbread: THE BEST CORNBREAD I'VE EVER HAD!!!!!!! I won't even tell u why. Go figure it out yourself.
Bottom line: you want good southern soul food that I would stereotypically assume what soul food is, go here. It's that damn good.
