  • For over ten years I was a customer of ADT's security system monitoring service. I was paying them $35.99 per month or over $431 per year. One day I finally decided to call The Monitoring Center after repeatedly hearing their catchy jingle on the radio "Call 1-866-twenty-four seven for $9.99." This is their phone number 1-866-247-4999, catchy, huh? They were running a special with free set-up and I think six months free service, but I had to sign an 18 month contract. Not a big deal, remember we had stuck with ADT for ten years! Saving $26 per month or $312 per year was a No Brainer and within a few weeks after making the call I was set-up with TMC. TMC has, if anything, been better than ADT. They call within minutes of the alarm going off (thankfully thus far it has gone off only due to me stupidly forgetting to disarm the system in the morning!) which shows they are on the ball. Sometimes ADT would not call after an alarm. I kick myself whenever I think of all that wasted money paid to ADT for all those years and I STRONGLY recommend anyone who is paying one of the more expensive security companies to consider switching to TMC. Note, however, that I already had a security system in place and that I was already month-to-month with ADT and not still locked into a contract with them. If I did not already have a system or was stuck in a contract with someone else the economics might have been less attractive.
