Anytime I'm in Phoenix I try to make a trip to MPH. I've brought friends and relatives who in turn have brought other friends. No one has ever had anything but good things to say about their meals.
The food here is the real deal and made with a lot of love. Where else do you get peas, carrots and green beans in your rice (unless your Mom made it). You get plenty of chips, fresh made salsa and complimentary ceviche tostada with your entree. My sister who will not eat Sushi even enjoyed her ceviche. I've ordered it to go many times.
My favorite is the Pescado Ala Talla (pronounced Taiya). If you're on a diet, skip it. But if you love fresh, lightly fried fish with a wonderful white sauce that has mushrooms, shrimp and octopus, then this dish is for you! Portions are very generous. The octopus is tender and cooked to perfection, never rubbery. Sorry, I was hungry and forgot to take a photo. You will have to try for yourself.
I keep meaning to try the shrimp cocktail which looks like a Bloody Mary with shrimp but never have room for it. Next time...
The moon and stars would have to be out of alignment for you to have a bad experience at MPH. Wait staff is very friendly and accommodating every single visit. Often times I come alone and never treated any different than a larger party. They know how to run a restaurant!
Even tho I was stuffed I had a bite of the carrot cake. Delish!!!
