  • Since moving to Pittsburgh, I've been on a hunt for a good massage therapist. I've pretty much settled on Janice--though "settled" is not the right word. * Yes, Esspa in Aspinwall has a better decor, but Janice can actually SEE me within a week. Since I have chronic pain issues, I can't just wait a month or two until I can go to Esspa. Also, she's less expensive than the folks at Esspa (though they are nice). * Yes, the decor is like your Nana's sitting room. It's cluttered, it's quaint. I think it's kind of cute. Whatever. She's a really good massage therapist who knows a lot of techniques. She's strong and soothing at the same time. * She gets to know her clients and really cares about them. She had knee surgery earlier this year but got back to giving massages because she has clients who have that much trouble. (She's okay now.) I have not gone to Janice for anything other than massages, but I'm happy to give her 5 stars on that alone. I think the only problem is, because she's a one-woman show, you can't really go and do couples massages and all that. Oh, she also gives a wonderful pregnancy massage. I highly recommend that!
