| - I recently visited White House Salon after not having my hair done (professionally) in 3 years for balayage and a cut. The salon is so beautiful, clean and up-to-date with its amazing backsplash-looking tiled floors, high-tech, orbiting-movable dryers and general ambiance. I loved it. I was scheduled with one of White House's 'Rising Talent' stylists and enjoyed and appreciated her being able to balayage, cut, wash and style my hair in less than 2 hours (which is really good/efficient for having any sort of color done at a salon!).
Unfortunately, I didn't love the results. I had shown my stylist a collage of photos of ash-blonde Lobs with my same color (dirty blonde/very light brown) roots and wanted the balayage to look natural. It came out moderately yellow/less ashy than expected and was not the look that I was hoping for.
However, I emailed the owner, Tanya, as soon as I got home, asking if there was any way that someone could take a look at my hair and fix it and she replied within minutes. She was so kind and understanding. She texted me with details, told me not to worry and that she would re-do my hair herself and called me the next day to make an appointment. Tanya re-did my hair, paying much attention to detail; she continuously inquired about the way I wanted it to look and was an amazing consultant and educator on how we would achieve "my look".
I am not a big Yelp reviewer (honestly, I never review anything, sorry for being a mooch!), but Tanya is worth the review. The amount of time that she took out of her day to re-do my hair so that I was happy with it was so generous, especially for being the owner of a very successful and well-known salon in Shadyside. Thank you, Tanya! I would highly recommend you and your salon to anyone!
