  • Looking for good bar food we decided to try Tyber Creek Pub. We were greeted by a smiling hostess whom asked if we wanted to sit upstairs or down by the bar. We decided to sit down by the bar. The bench was incredibly uncomfortable. But the bar area was as uncommon as any bar in any city across the country. I excused myself to the ladies room and though tidy I was pretty grossed out with how dirty the floors (especially the corners) were. While in the ladies room my husband ordered a Jameson on the rocks (for him) and a Jack Daniels Honey Whisky for me. When the bartender brought the drinks over he spoke to us in his Irish accent...jokingly I told him "Can you just talk to me all night?" I say it was joke because my husband was sitting with me! He must have taken offense to it because he said "I am married!" Easy Buddy - so am I - it was a total joke. After he left it was obvious he sent another server over to wait on us. My husband ordered a Reuben and I ordered a steak sandwich. Our wait was not long and our food was delivered by yet another server. My husband's Reuben was really small but he said it was tasty. My sandwich though good - I could taste the charcoal from the grill. Both of us were given an abundant amount of over salted fries. Once done with our meal our plates were whisked away and our server a very sweet young lady chatted with us about Charlotte and hometowns. The bill with drinks was a little over $35 reasonable. However with all the great places around the Southend area - it is doubtful we will return anytime soon.
