  • We had just rescued a 12 year old mini schnauzer mix from the SPCA. Sammy was filthy and matted from 2 months in various shelters and who knows what before that. He had lost trust in humans and would growl and bite if you touched him in the wrong way. We brought him to a large grooming service but they called us after an hour to say Sammy would not let them do anything. They gave us the number of a vet who could groom difficult pets (with sedation) but I would have to wait a week for an appointment. Desperate and determined to get Sammy groomed we looked through out SPCA paperwork and found a postcard from D-Tails. And thank goodness we did! Tara worked with Sammy slowly and carefully, talking to Sammy the whole time. She was able to give him a bath and a scissor cut! It was truly amazing to watch her in action! We will be taking Sammy back next week for phase 2 of his grooming. Thank you Tara and Daniel for not giving up on Sammy. He is turning out to be a very sweet dog.
