  • We did not shop for our hospice care. Our father was released from the hospital with hospice care. He, at the time, was a resident of an assisted living facility. At 94 years old his body had started to fail him. He had outgrown the assisted living facility and they were no longer able or willing to care for him with the quality of care he deserved. I can't even begin to tell you how fortunate we were to have been assigned to this hospice care provider! Since all of the children lived out of state and our dad wanted to live out his life in Las Vegas we depended on the guidance that this service was able to provide us. They gave us a list of other facilities which we looked at and were able to place him in a lovely home that had the most caring staff that became family to him and to us. I wish to give special shout outs to the champions of this company on the personal care level. Christian was amazing! He was our fathers RN. He monitored his care and was able to make the last 8 months of dads life comfortable for him while keeping the family in the loop. Stephanie was his CNA, I don't even have the words that would be enough to praise the over and above things she did for dad! She was our hero and a champion to dad. She fought the battles for him at the first assisted living facility, she would drop in when she wasn't expected just to make sure that he had received his meals and found him on the floor a couple of times when they did not respond to the help pendant he had activated. She helped pack him up and move him out to the residential hospice house where he stayed through end of life. She was there for him day after day and available 24/7 to him by phone, which believe me he took advantage of! So kudos to Nevada Hospice Care for vetting their caregivers and providing them the support they need to give their patients the care and dignity they deserve!
