| - Shark Reef Aquarium is found way in the back of Mandalay Bay among its many conference halls. Entrance price is typical for majority of aquariums and in line with most of the Strip's all ages attractions. It has all the Vegas flair while giving an attractive space for marine animals.
The space is humid and well decorated with a Raiders of the Lost Ark feel. Exhibits border a purposeful path eliminating meandering and wandering. Large display windows with deep blue lights allow for easy viewing of the variety of creatures, and this aquarium sports a large variety.
There are Komodo dragons, sea turtles, lizards, snakes, rays, eels, many different species of sharks, and many, many different types of fish. The displays vary from large tanks to underwater viewing in tubes, to full wall displays for larger creatures.
It isn't a large aquarium and shouldn't be confused or compared with an actual aquarium. It is a Vegas attraction, and will entertain you for a limited time. Larger aquariums can consume a day. This one may occupy a couple hours if you're very leisurely about it. It can become crowded and in dimly lit areas people can become pushy.
On the other hand the variety of marine life is truly stunning. They have magnificent displays! And their gift shop has no equal in any aquarium I have seen.
