| - As close to perfect as breakfast gets
I chose Bradbury's in an effort to find some decent tea near the Capitol. I'm delighted to report that my Sencha was both expertly prepared and of superb quality! As a tea aficionado, I'm always excited to find someone who knows what they're doing in this regard.
I hadn't planned to stay for a full breakfast meal, but the crêpe menu board was too tantalizing to ignore. I chose a savory option: a buckwheat crêpe with scrambled egg, spinach, Parmesan cheese, and carrot-cashew pâté. It was delightful down to the last bite, and it kept me going all day.
I also like the ambience at Bradbury's. The place is pretty tiny, but the abundant daylighting and slightly rustic look keeps it comfortable. It might be a squeeze with more than 10 customers, though. Perhaps it's a good opportunity to meet someone new to talk to?
The staff is friendly and efficient; they keep the place in top shape, and my food arrived fresh, hot, and without delay.
My only critique is that the tea is somewhat expensive for the amount served. Perhaps I should've asked for a second steeping to see what they'd say? I hate to think of good tea leaves going to the compost after only one cup. All that said, I'd gladly pay a premium for such good tea in the future.
Do yourself a favor and try this place! I'm tempted to go back tomorrow and to try another tea variety and a sweet crêpe.
