Might have been the best meal I've had in Montreal (or perhaps that would be Toque). The octopus first course with the smoky eggplant puree was exquisitely prepared and presented, with a crispy outside and perfectly delicate texture. Also, the generous portion makes it perfect to share. My husband had the grouper prepared in a Portuguese style (tomatoes and other vegetables and small white potatoes), and I had two types of salt cod and both dishes were the kind of complex and distinct flavors that you taste every morsel, but the dishes also work together as a whole. Who knew what mint could do! The service was attentive, well-informed and professional. And in a charming coincidence, the couple at the next table were also out-of-towners....from our neighborhood! So we became acquainted and had a lively conversation. We will most definitely visit Ferreira again.
