I live at the apartments next door. We all received notices in the mail that a paroled, registered sex offender moved in to 4RentWeekly and his assigned level of dangerousness was so high it required community notices be given to everyone in the surrounding area. This person was convicted of forcible sexual assault on an adult female and spent several years in prison.
On our block we also have a residential center for elderly/disabled people and a day school. Now factor in all of the families, women, and children in the area and obviously there was cause for alarm.
I called the office to alert them. First they refused to answer the phone or return messages. I then called the PPD community liaison for sex offenders. Only after being informed the police were contacted did this apartment complex return my call. They denied anyone by the offender's name rented from them. I told them they better sort it out because the PPD notice meant either a dangerous sexual predator was using them as a front while he went off the radar from his parole officer, or someone else rented that unit number for him to use so they wouldn't know they had a rapist on parole living there. They were utterly unhelpful and it is still unknown if this man is residing in this area.
