Our third visit to Caffe Boa was not as good as previous meals there. Although the food was solid as always -- fresh homemade pasta, artisan cheeses and fresh, local meats and ingredients are always highlights -- the service was poor this time around. It was not particularly busy for an early Saturday evening, but it took 35 minutes for us to even get some bread. The rest of the meal came at a similar snail's pace. The waitress was pleasant, but inattentive and not particularly knowledgable about the menu and wine list (in stark contrast to our previous visits). She took an order for appetizers from us and came back empty-handed ten minutes later to see if she could take our order for.....APPETIZERS?!?! She was obviously overwhelmed. The service was what you might expect from an Applebee's... only a lot slower. The quality of the food partly made up for it, though.
