  • Reading the reviews on Chico Malo is a little sad. I have already been to Chico Malo twice since their opening approximately three weeks ago. The food, staff, and drinks are all really good! The happy hour is pretty solid with $5 margaritas (which are great) and some discounted small plates. The first time we went, we were served by Angel (I LOVE YOU), and he was great! He gave us suggestions and our drinks were always full. The chips and salsa (verde and montezuma) are a must when starting. The montezuma salsa is a bit different, but it's excellent. I believe I have tried every taco on their menu and was not disappointed with any of them. My favorites have to be pollo tinga, chorizo and papas, and the short rib. I see that people are mostly complaining about the prices on the tacos. Yes, they are priced higher than tacos that you get on the street for 50 cents, however, the ingredients that Chico Malo is using are fresh and also from local businesses. The tortillas are made in house and are perfect. You are paying more for the quality of these tacos, which is totally worth it. Chico Malo is a great restaurant! The decor and wait staff is super nice. I'm excited to see the restaurant progress.
