| - I called the hotel this morning to ask about their pet policy. "Nina" answered the phone and she was so incredibly rude, I finally just hung up on her. I tried very hard to be pleasant and polite but after just a few minutes, it was all but impossible. I simply wanted to know what their pet policy was. She told me they only had a few rooms that were pet-friendly and she would check their availability. Fine and well. And at this point, it went sour. First, she asked me whether I wanted smoking or non-smoking. I told her it didn't matter as while I do smoke, I always go outside. She then proceeded to say that while it didn't matter to me, it mattered to her. Ok, fine, clearly a problem. She then said I was "lucky" as they had a room. She said their pet fee is $25/night. I commented that I thought that was rather high. I always travel with my dog and maybe I've just been lucky but I've never paid more than $10. She then told me what a stupid idiot I was for commenting on it. At that point, I decided I didn't want the room and she said "good, we don't want you here anyway." Seriously? I swear, I was polite! But at that point, I just hung up. I've never stayed at this hotel brand before and I doubt I ever will. I called their "customer care" line and was placed on hold for over 25 minutes. I tried to email but just kept getting error messages. I finally gave up and figured, I'd just post it here. Maybe I offended her somehow, I don't know but in any case, it was a bad experience that I don't care to repeat.
