  • They treated me like a rock star here! Two concierge people picked me out of a long check-in line, gave me a short tour, and showed me to my room. Perhaps they wanted to sell me a timeshare here? Not sure. Nevertheless, I just ate up the special attention. Anyhow, for $89/night, what a great value. We booked a group rate, so no resort fee. We stayed here less than 24 hours. I opted for early check-in for $20. I flew into Vegas with one daughter for a gymnastics meet. The online pictures don't do this place justice; the rooms aren't photogenic. In person the rooms are actually quite nice. Large room with two double beds. I was impressed by how well put together my room was and found myself wanting to stay another night. No coffee maker, but there's a refrigerator. Don't drink the bottled water unless you don't mind paying $4/bottle. Large gorgeous soaking tub. Marvelous view of pool from 17th floor. This place is extremely convenient if you have an event to attend at the convention center. We tried the Asian Bistro for dinner. $24 for one order of Pad Thai, holy smokes, and $12 for a small plate of steamed vegetables (bok choi, carrots, cabbage, broccoli). I'm usually not amenable to paying this much for 1.5 plates of food (think room service prices), but we were exhausted and famished and this place could seat us right away. Had I been operating at 100%, I might've just gone to the 24-hour gift shop and bought a $3 ice cream sandwich and a $2 stick of beef jerky and called it a night. I did have one daughter to feed, so pad thai at the Silk Road Asian Bistro it is. The Westgate gift shop is nice, by the way, and prices are reasonable. Oh, the only thing that disappointed me here was the ice cream shop closed early:( At least I know for next time. The housekeeping was friendly and maybe a little too lax, as the previous guest's Chinese food was left in our fridge, but I'm willing to overlook that when considering how many stars to give. The workout room is enormous, and well kept. The outdoor pool was closed after 5pm so we missed out on swimming.
