| - Went on March 15th, and was sadly disappointed. My boyfriend and I were looking for gourmet donuts in the area and purposely went here to get some.
Service: the waitress was less than interested in our business. A simple smile would've helped. When we asked what was their popular items she looked like she didn't want to answer, actually didn't even comment until we pointed out the items we were interested in. Even then, she just said the candy bar pie was a popular item, completely disregarding any description of the other items. This would've been a great chance for her to up sell and get us to buy more, but she missed the mark.
Donuts: not worth the $3.
Custard Bomb: the only redeeming quality was the dough of the donut itself. It was chewy and thick, not overly oily like some coffee shop chains. The dough matched the flavour very well. Unfortunately, the failure was the custard. The custard itself tasted great but if you're going to call it a custard bomb, I'm expecting it to burst with custard. Here, there was only a dollop. I split the donut in 3 and 1 person barely had any for his piece.
Apple Caramel: it was essentially apple pie filling, not much caramel flavour at all. Again, the dough here was the only thing we all liked. It was like a krispy kreme but not as flat, just as chewy if not better, and definitely not as oily. But the same problem occurs here as the "filling" barely fills the donut.
The candy bar pie tasted yummy, but was too sweet and heavy to finish a slice on your own.
The chocolate chip cookie bar was tasty but it was nothing surprisingly delicious.
All in all, we went for donuts, the other stuff was just a fun try. The donuts are not bad, actually better than more coffee shop places, however, I would not deem it gourmet and definitely not worth $3/piece.
