| - Driving through the Southside looking for a "new to me" place to try for a Sunday mid-day meal when I spotted Twelve Whiskey and Barbecue. From all outward appearances, it looked like it would be a pleasant place to eat. That carried over to a nice interior. So, expectations were moderately high.
We (see Anne G.'s separate review) were immediately given the brunch menu, followed shortly our waitress asking if we were ready to order drinks. We weren't so she left us alone...for about a minute. When we told her we still weren't ready, she proceeded to ignore us for more than 10 minutes. Finally, she came back to the table and and took our order with me ordering the Chicken and Waffles. Amazingly, our order was served within minutes. However, it quickly made sense as my waffle was straight out of a box and on top were 4 warmed up in a microwave chicken strips. It came with an ounce and a half of syrup, barely enough to cover the chicken with nothing left for the waffle...and no butter! As a result, the waffle was horribly dry.
It was not worth even half of the $12 charged. Needless to say, I will not be going back when there are so many other, much better places around.
