Let me start off by saying I love my home. The neighborhood is great and neighbors are so friendly. My problem is with maintenance and the office staff. My air conditioning went out and it took 2 1/2 days to get it repaired. The maintenance line that you have to call told me I needed to change my air filter and that if it was dirty they would charge me for the maintenance service. I am smart enough to know that a dirty filter doesn't keep the air conditioning unit from coming on come on people. The assistant to my property manager doesn't return phone calls which is totally unprofessional. I received a late fee letter and called numberous times to talk to the assistant and phone calls were not returned. I finally sent a copy of my bank check and when I emailed her with a copy of the check she emailed me back saying she would check on it. I still had to call back several times and finally received an email stating my payment had been applied to someone elses account. No apology just that my account was now showing current. My lease is coming up for renewal in August. I received a letter in early June stating my rent would be increasing by 80.00 a month. That is a huge increase. I have never lived in any house that the rent was increased by that much. I have looked at other house for rent for the price range I will be paying after the increase and for the same price I could get more house. I could get a sun room or screened in porch, fenced yard, extra bedroom etc. The leasing agent I worked with was wonderful and was always available to help any time I called him. Too bad the office staff and property managers aren't as helpful and professional. I agree with the person that said they treat you like you can't afford to buy a house. That couldn't be further for the truth in my case. I choose to rent because I live alone and don't want to be responsible for repairs.
