This menu is the work of a truly inspired chef. This was easily one of the best meals I've had this year and quite possibly one of my top ten for the decade. The reason is that the chef understands nuance and flavor profile at an extremely high level. Combining bolognese, lobster, and bottarga created something entirely original yet perfectly natural at the same time. I could say the same thing about smoked tuna and cured pork cheek, seared tuna in a BLT, pickled beets and peaches in a savory ricotta tart, or hay ice cream with chocolate mousse. Icone is a foodie's dream restaurant.
