| - For a year now, this has been my new salon. My other salon had nothing wrong with it, but it was out of the way. Salon Sedona is near my house, and they are always friendly. Plus, my hair has never received more compliments (oh, and I like it too). I've had both Carla and Alissa do my hair, and both are friggin' rock stars at doing hair. If you want a complete bombshell blow out, please book an appointment with Carla! Seriously, I have paid a lot to have a less amazing blow out in California (don't judge please. I was going to a conference and having a bad day on top of it. They didn't do nails, so my Legally Blonde suggestion of helping didn't happen).
In October, Alissa dyed my hair so I could go as Dana Scully from the X Files for Halloween. Yes, I'm *that* dedicated to Halloween. She does amazing color. Anyway, my mom despises me when my hair is more red, and somehow, when Alissa dyes my hair red my mom doesn't just think it's okay on me, she LIKES IT. Now, this may be a sign of the end of days or my new hair girl is just that great at doing what she does. You decide.
The salon is usually fairly busy, but they work in walk ins when they can. Everyone that works there is very friendly, and I have had some hilarious conversations there. They usually offer coffee or tea while you're waiting. It's an Aveda salon, so if you're looking for Purology or other product lines, it's not going to happen. But hey, I like Aveda stuff, so it works for me. I also love a salon where I can see a 90 year old getting her hair set, a 23 year old guy, a 9 year old little girl getting a trim, and me. Everyone is getting their hair done how they like. The staff is more than happy to offer suggestions if you need them.
Another reason I keep going here is because often stylists want me to cut my hair. NOPE. Not gonna happen. I want long princess hair. Alissa listened to what I want my hair to look like, offered suggestions, and is helping me keep it long. I would flip out with short hair right now, and she understands that hair can be a very sensitive topic (i mean, I'm sure she gets it being a hair stylist and all). Alissa is also a total sweetheart, and fun to talk to while I'm waiting on my hair to dye (or for the more natural Aveda dye to be seeping into my brain). She styled my hair for an event for my fraternal order, and I received so many compliments that I was a little concerned about my brethren sucking up to me. Plus, you know, the best part? I liked it.
