I don't think Toronto has much choice when it comes to Ramen. I am not sure why it is so damn hard to get this right ... but at the very least, Kenzo is on the right track. I find its broth the most authentic of the lot and the preparation is commendable. The ramen itself is fairly meh: a) Ji Su Men: I like how they sautéed the chicken and roasted the sesame seeds. The broth was well balanced too. b) King of Kings: Just the right amount of spiciness and the combination of ingredients was perfect. c) Okonomiyaki: This had seafood in it and was tasty mainly due to the sauce. I would have preferred it a little crispier (aka like Okonomi House). d) Takoyaki: Blech. Too mushy and floury. I prefer Manpuku (Just the right amount of flour / ingredients) and even Guu (Guu has a crispier crust). P/S: I will upload the Takoyaki pic another time. I can't find it but I KNOW I have it. As for service, um ... not very good ... especially for a Japanese place. I don't know about you but all the Japanese restaurants always greet me hello and goodbye. Here, I got zilch. They were not very friendly and took ages with the bill.
