| - We heard such good things about Kaya... Sadly, those recommendations were way off!
My wife and I ate there tonight and I am sorry, but the only thing we had all night with any taste (seasoning) was the sauce the Conch fritters came with. If there was a bright side, our server was nice enough.
25+ minutes after the appetizer was removed from the table, the entrees arrived, here is the recap:
My wife is 7 months pregnant, she eats just about everything in site nowadays and tonight she didn't have the desire to finish her dinner... She had the Jerk pork quesadilla that even she said had ZERO taste. I tasted the pork by itself, and I concur.
I had the supposed infamous Kaya burger (medium well)... Where do I begin? The burger was beyond well done, dry and had only the char taste of the grill. The egg was tasteless, cooked too long and thus couldn't run when cut, no doubt because of the far too long of a wait. The bun was from yesterday, the sauce on it had no spice or flavor and how the hell does bacon have no taste?!?!
Look, a lot of places screw up the egg on the burger concept, but this was by far an insult and theft of $15... At only $8 the ENP breakfast burger blows the Kaya burger away!
We have been to a few restaurants that screw up either her's or my dish, but both, and for neither to have any taste?... So disappointed!
