| - We got a recall notice on our Trailblazer having to do with a switch in the door. Since we were new to the area, we tried the closest dealer/shop, Gateway. The service bulletin said it would take between 20 minutes and 1 hr-45. We called and made an appointment and the rep said allow 3 hrs. Several days later my wife took the car in. After 2 hours, they said they had to replace the switch but did not have any in inventory, so my wife came home. The driver door then did not lock with the fob and the windows can't be controlled. I can't figure out how they can set an appointment and not have a replacement part in stock.
Several days later, we were driving by, and ask when they would have a new switch in stock. The rep called Parts and was apparently told they had one in stock. The rep told us he would have it done in 30 minutes or less, so we went to the waiting area. After 45 minutes, I went to see the rep and he said he found out that they did not have the switch in stock, again, and he found that out 30 minutes earlier. Didn't bother to tell us. We would probably still be there if I hadn't asked.
The service manager was at lunch (2:30) so I complained to the warranty manager. He said he would have the service manager call me. Never got the phone call.
We left and will never go to Gateway ever again.
Time to find another Chevy shop, maybe further away, but hopefully they are managed better and can fix the recall issue.
