  • Came here with some family friends and parents. Not bad for a first impression. I couldn't help but compare here to Hokkaido the entire time I was dining, and judging by that it's got it's got its goods and bads. Good: The fish and sushi. I'm not a fan of the "specialty rolls" and spicy mayo this and that but there was a lot of variety for these and the fish quality was for the most part a lot better. There were really shady pieces of tuna when I went, but the salmon, white tuna, yellowtail, and snapper sashimi were really good for buffet, maybe even in general. The salmon was especially delicious. Parents really liked the crawfish here. Crab legs are plentiful. The buffet room is spacious, and the aisles have plenty of room for people to walk by. The sauteed clam dish is so good here! Probably my favorite buffet dish. A lot of the dishes had better flavor here imo, despite just being staple buffet dishes. Meh: Variety of non-sushi hot dishes was pretty limited. No general tso's or any other classic Chinese-American foods there, which seemed odd? Plus, there was at least 4 different varieties of chicken in very similar sauces that are basically the same dish, 2 short rib, and a couple pork chop - some of those could've been replaced with definite favorites. The seafood bar was just a few oysters that weren't very fresh (nobody touched them for the couple of hours I was there, and then they just sat there), no mussels, only a few small shrimp, etc, not as complete as I'd expected. Ice cream soft serve had no toppings, small dessert selection. There is a chocolate fountain, but nothing suitable to dip into it except for a bowl of half-melted marshmallows. The outside of the restaurant looks plenty fancy with big signs and a nice drive by area, but the inside decor was not as nice. the carpeting, colors, and dim yellow lighting made it seem a bit drab and "old fashioned"? Not a big deal, but a bit misleading. The restaurant wasn't completely filled, and our service was pretty spotty. Our waters weren't refilled for a long time at a time, and plates piled up without people coming by to collect them. The waitress came by maybe 3 times the entire 2ish hours we were there. Overall, a nice place to eat a casual dinner. Good sushi in a buffet = very impressive. Go here for a slightly better sushi buffet, go to Hokkaido for more variety of dishes in general. 4 for the fish, 3 for the food. 2 for the service.
