  • It is over 5 hours since I left Inspect-Ur-Gadget and I am still wondering how this place is still in business. I need to say this from the start, you will eventually get your electronics fixed...but quality will be poor (see Ryan's review) and coustomer service will not exist once you give them the initial payment that they require after you drop your device off. UGH! Alternative: Quick Fix Cellular (Ray and Dobson) Quick Reveiw: Believe what your read from Ryan and I...I read the initial reveiw by Ryan and thought I would give them a try with so few reviews and I am regretting it today! They are understaffed and over committed leaving you on hold and wondering when your gadget will be returned. If you can get them to look at it while you wait, you will be in buisness...if you leave it with them, any dollar that walks through the door will take priority over you as long as they can hold you off! And they will make you feel like you are imposing on them! Detailed Experience: On Wednesday, March 30 at 5:30 PM I brought in my sons iTouch and my Blackberry Bold 9000 to be looked at, I quoted the website where it said "Repairs while UR Waiting" and inquired about that service. At the time I brought in two cellphone batteries as I wanted to rule out a dead battery and give them the ability to actually test my phone. After looking at it for about 10 minutes, I was told that it was not the battery that there may be a lose connection or the battery connection needs to be replaced. They also quoted me $59.00 to repair my sons iTouch as all it needed was screen replacement. I was told it would be $30 to look at my Blackberry. I was told that the iTouch could be done tomorrow and that they would call me about the Blackberry. I told them that I don't want to spend too much money on this phone as I am up for an upgrade but if it is a simple repair I will stay with this phone a little longer. I made it clear to the manager who was assisting me when I paid the $30, do nothing to my phone unless you call me first. Thursday, March 31...a day without my phone and my son without his iTouch and no phone call. We were busy at work and waited to call them until Friday morning. Friday, April 1...three phone calls (two by my wife) and an email from me (as there phone tells you that an email is welcome) reminding them that we needed the iTouch for my son because we are attending his daughters cheerleading event all day on Saturday and he cannot live without it at an event like that (he is 6). A return phone call at 5:15 and an email telling us it won't be ready today! Our phone call and email asked for a pick up date, both the message and the email stated...both from an employee named Frank..."We will call you when they are ready!" Saturday, April 2...no calls were made on this day as we were at a Cheerleading event all day can could not pick it up even if it was ready. MIND YOU, this was all after asking for the "Repairs While UR Waiting" when I walked in...UGH! Monday, April 4. I spent several emails inquring about the status...the fifth email I was finally told. "I can't give you an exact date there are a lot ahead of yours right now." I emailed back, "How many, if there are a lot in front of mine you should have an estimate on how long it will take?" Response, "We will call you when they are ready!" At that I lost it and told them, "since you have had my iTouch and my Blackberry for five days and have done nothing, please have them ready for me as I will have my wife pick them up (since I was working late and wouldn't make it in time before they closed). Low and behold my iTouch was fixed when she got there and they said we needed a new battery for the Blackberry so they could fix it. Since we have the same phone my wife let them see her battery...she left it with them over night as she trusted them for FINALLY fixing the iTouch. Tuesday, April 5. I went in to pick up my Blackberry. They had done work on it without calling me and had reset my Blackberry to factory settings which meant I lost every since my last download (which was about two months ago)...all my kids pictures, etc. When I was shared my outrage I was told, "The phone is fixed, you got what you wanted." When I asked to speak to the manager he allowed the employee to continue to tell me he had the right to do it without calling me. I demanded a refund for the $30 since they deleted all my information without calling me as I asked the manager to do when I dropped it off. I was told we have a policy not to return money, sorry. When I shared how upset I was with the entire process and that I should have listened to Ryan's post on Yelp, and that without a refund I would share my experience on Yelp. They said "Tell whoever you want, just make sure you tell them we fixed both your devices!" And I did! I am lost at their lack of coustomer service! OMG! Or lack there of...UGH. AVOID, AVIOD, AVIOD
