Hmmm, this is a tough one. I guess when one is motivated to review due to a bad experience, bias is bound to occur. I'll try to be objective.
1st baguette purchased here. Bad...doughy and soft crust.
2nd baguette purchased here (2nd chance). Good...airy and crusty.
Today; Latte - above average.
Pain au chocolat - tiny, with very little chocolate, but for 1.90, maybe I shouldn't complain.
Today's bad experience - They had mini baguettes and I asked if they could butter one for me. Verbatim - "I can't do that. If I did, I'd have to do it for everyone." (Huh??? I'm the only one in the place.)
"I don't understand, do you have butter?"
"He (the owner) doesn't want to do that".
(Understand that this place does sell sandwiches and prepared foods.)
OK, but it's hard to understand why the owner doesn't want to sell food. Isn't that the line of work he chose?
