  • Ouch, so many harsh reviews on here you'd think that some of these people were from competing Cirque shows and were just waiting for this to fail. To clarify, before I delve in, I am a 'veteran' Cirque audience. I've seen nearly every Cirque that passed through LA since I was a child, and I've seen most of the LV shows that never made it to LA. I've loved some, liked most, and never really actually hated any, until I was given Elvis tix, which I thought, without a doubt, that I would despise. However, I took the offer anyway, since I wasn't going to pass up on front-row seats (and I'm glad I didn't!). Just for the record, my all-time fav is Alegria, hands down. Now, onto the review. We watched it on Thursday night, the 9:30 show, and it was pretty full. We were seated dead-center, just three rows back, all thanks to whatever wonderful comp deal I got. The show started a little later that I thought, but the 'showgirls' were running around making conversation, chatting up some of the kids, which I thought was pretty neat. To be clear, there is no Elvis impersonator. At least, not like one main guy the whole way through. But, personally, I liked it better like that. It's like watching any other Cirque show, where you get to focus on everyone/everything that's going on, not just one person. I liked the set, I liked most of the songs/dances. There were a couple that I thought they either could have done without, but considering I'm not a huge Elvis fan (and the BF could have cared less), we both really truly enjoyed it. I sang along to almost every song, and seemed to have liked it better than the actual Elvis mom's to my left. Overall, if you have free tix, don't pass them up! If you have to pay, don't pay for the front row seats, lol. I wouldn't have paid that much. But for $FREE, go for it - reserve early so you can get your own kick-butt seats!
