I had to give five stars because this place has a lot going for it despite not being a traditional 5-star destination. By that, I mean that there's nothing fancy here as far as amenities go. However, this theatre boasts a comfortable, community-driven feeling (in the heart of downtown!) and is just what some people desire over the Big Box (big price) of larger chain theatres.
The screens here aren't the biggest, creating an intimate viewing experience, but I have no complaints on image quality. The seating isn't the best - tall people in front can be more problematic without stadium style seating (which has become the norm in newer cinemas).
The staff friendliness, great film selection, lower prices, and the old time movie-going vibe are what make this place a stand out from the pack. Arrive early and listen to a guy on piano play for a lobby buzzing before show time.
It's like discovering a new favourite food, at an unassuming diner. They serve up the classic night out, with a slice of love.
