| - I had heard a lot about weary traveler, and the hype excited me to dine here.
I came here on a Saturday night. The bar was full, but I didn't feel too crowded. I put myself down with a table of 10. While waiting, we all ordered drinks off the menu (mojitos, Tom Collins, cosmo, etc). The bartender was awesome and extremely accommodating. Kudos Weary! We waited around 45 minutes and were seated at a corner table across the bar. We played BS with a pack of cards while we waited. I was having so much fun that the wait for food felt minimal.
We ordered the nacho plate (with pico de gallo and guacamole) as an appetizer. They were out of guacamole, so we were served the nachos with pico de gallo and avocados. It was filling, but I do not plan on repeating this experience without guacamole. I ordered the carne asada as my entree. Again, served with avocado instead of guacamole. The meat was too salty (and too peppery for my boyfriend), and the nachos were soggy from the pico de gallo. It was tasty, but I wasn't satisfied in the end. I plan on ordering the burger next time. I found myself stealing bites of my boyfriend's burger throughout our night. Our server was awesome, and she gave our friend a special brownie cake for her birthday.
The combination of drinks and games, the loud but festive environment, and the accommodating servers made for a pretty cool night. Food was three stars for me, but I definitely plan on returning for the experience.
