| - This is a difficult review to write.
I have eaten here twice. The first time the food was very good. This second time experience--which has prompted this review--was really not good.
I do not blame the servers in the restaurant, but the kitchen was hopelessly backed up on a Saturday at 2pm. We arrived at 2 pm, ordered by 2:10, and by 2:55, had not received our food. This is not an everything made to order multiple courses type place, this is wings, brisket, fried chicken, red beans and rice type of stuff. They did not start smoking the meats when we ordered.
We ultimately just took the food to go, not even bothering to get it at the table--not out of pique, but because we had to be somewhere and keeping people waiting is just rude and we were not going to perpetuate the sin.
There is really no excuse for a delay of this type. I will admit that the place started filling up after we arrived, but that is primarily because all of the other diners had been waiting for so long that everyone just piled up.
At the end of the day, the food once transported home was okay. Very smoky which was fine, but soggy, cold and frankly its never fun eating BBQ sauce out of little plastic cups.
What a shame.
