-Great ambiance - romantic, beautiful, dark colors, gentle lighting. Too bad it is destroyed by giant sports TV screens!
-Terrible service - had to flag down a waiter after being ignored for a long time. Seriously?
-Wine bar? - NO, they don't get it. The server didn't have much to say about the wines I guess because she left an iPad on the table with info about the wines on it! NO - I am in a wine bar for god's sake, service and knowledge are expected, not a computer where I have to search and such! LAZY SERVICE.
-Ordered a wine flight and had to ask for bread to clear the palate - the worst isthat I asked specifically for "plain bread" and was given some crazy bread full of I don't know what nuts and fruits and a spread full of other flavors! Does this place not "get" wine tasting at all?? So I then asked the bus boy to bring me plain unflavored bread! (finally received some) Ridunkulous.
-Lastly - two huge TV screens were showing SPORTS - in a WINE bar!! Seriously? That ruined the otherrwise great decor.
HINT TO MANAGEMENT: 1. Servers at a wine bar should have some knowledge about wine. 2. Sports bars and wine bars are not expected to be the same in any way.
